Entry Checklist — India

Before You Apply

  • Confirm your eligibility for an Indian e-Visa. Brazilian citizens are eligible for e-Tourist Visa.
  • Ensure your passport has at least six months validity from your date of arrival in India.
  • Confirm you have a return ticket or onward journey ticket.
  • Ensure you have sufficient funds to cover your stay in India.

Application Process

  • Apply for the e-Tourist Visa at indianvisaonline.gov.in at least 4 days before your date of travel. Applications can be made up to 120 days in advance.
  • Upload a recent passport-size photograph that meets the specifications outlined on indianvisaonline.gov.in.
  • Upload a scanned copy of your passport bio page (the page with your photo and details) in PDF format, with a maximum size of 3MB.
  • Answer all questions truthfully and accurately on the online application form at indianvisaonline.gov.in.

Fees & Payment

  • Pay the e-Visa fee online using a credit card or debit card. The fee varies depending on the time of year and visa validity, check the current fee on indianvisaonline.gov.in.

After Approval

  • Check your email regularly for updates on your e-Visa application status.
  • Print a copy of the approved e-Visa (Electronic Travel Authorization - ETA) that you receive via email.

Documents Needed

  • Valid Brazilian passport with at least six months validity.
  • Printed copy of the approved e-Visa (ETA).
  • Proof of sufficient funds to cover your expenses during your stay.optional

At the Border

  • Present your passport and printed e-Visa (ETA) to the immigration officer upon arrival in India.
  • Be prepared to answer questions about the purpose of your visit and your intended stay.
  • Your biometrics (fingerprints and photograph) will be taken at immigration.
  • The e-Tourist Visa allows for a maximum stay of 60 days from the date of first entry into India. You can enter India a maximum of two times on an e-Tourist visa within its period of validity.
