Entry Checklist — Australia

Before You Apply

Determine your eligibility for an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA). Ensure your passport is from an eligible country (Canada is eligible).
Ensure your passport has at least 6 months validity from your intended date of entry into Australia.
Have a valid email address to receive your ETA confirmation.
Have a valid credit card or PayPal account to pay the ETA service fee.

Application Process

Apply for your Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) through the Australian ETA app or the Department of Home Affairs website.
Download the Australian ETA app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Provide your passport details, contact information, and answer eligibility questions within the ETA app.
Pay the AUD 20 service fee through the app.
Alternatively, apply for the ETA through the Department of Home Affairs website if you cannot use the app.optional
Check your email for the ETA grant notification. It is usually processed within minutes, but can take up to 72 hours.
